You’re familiar with “he-who-must-not-be-named”, yes? Well I am reading a book-which-must-not-be-named, but which has metaphorically slapped me across the face and left an impression on me. It’s very inspiring and very crude, and so I’ll just omit the title. Sorry. Besides, I don’t agree with huge portions of the book. Here are some of the highlights that I DO agree with:
– Soda is liquid Satan. And Diet Soda is his evil twin. (I added that last part!) Yes, I know I should cut soda out of my daily consumption. Again, soda is the devil. It is garbage. There is nothing in soda that should be put into my body. (this is me giving myself a pep talk) There is nothing in soda, diet or not, that will help me get down to my goal weight. Sadly, I know that until I have a life-altering “you’re-gonna-die-unless-you-give-up-soda” experience, I will probably continue to reach for the occasional soda. And I’m pretty sure that, occasionally, I’ll reach for a Coke Zero more often than just occasionally. Don’t call me out on it!
– Sugar = Fat. Enough said. Why is this so hard for me? Truly, I think I may be addicted to sugar. Please do call me on this one if you see me going over board. Muchas gracias.
– I need to exercise. I need to give up the notion that I can be sedentary and still lose weight. Exercise burns fat and calories, improved circulation, regulates crapping (that’s a direct quote, mind you!), defines muscles, builds strength, and detoxifies the body through sweating. It’s the regulating of the bodily functions that catches my attention!
There is so much more… so much more. However, I have great desires to get caught up on my laundry today, which, by the way, is one of my 2 great nemesis’. The other is filing. And that, my dears, is a whole ‘nother story!
